What’s Between You and What You Want?

Today I want to talk about something that I am extremely passionate about on our journey towards fulfilment. There’s an invisible barrier that seems to be standing between us and our dreams. We often find ourselves wondering, "What is it that's holding me back?"

The answer is simple and there’s no beating around the bush. It's you! Yes, you read that right. The only thing standing between you and what you want is yourself. But don't worry, because I'm here to show you why and how to break through that barrier.

We all have dreams and aspirations, whether it's starting a successful business, finding love, or traveling the world. But oftentimes, we let fear, doubt, and self-limiting beliefs hold us back from taking the necessary steps to achieve those dreams.

Fear is one of the biggest things that stop us from living our dream life. We fear failure, rejection, criticism, and even success itself. We become so comfortable in our current situations that we're afraid to step out of our comfort zones and take risks. You need to figure out exactly what your fear is. For me it’s failing and I have had many moments of not taking the leap when needed because of that fear, but now I understand the fear on a deeper level and exactly why it surfaces when I have to make the leap. I can now push through it and make the jump.

Another barrier that stands between you and what you want is doubt. We doubt our abilities, our worthiness, and our chances of success. We compare ourselves to others and think, "I could never be as good as them." But here's the truth: comparison is the thief of joy. You are unique, and you have your own set of skills and talents that nobody else has. So, stop doubting yourself and start believing in your potential.

Self-limiting beliefs are also major roadblocks on our path to success. We tell ourselves things like, "I'm not smart enough," "I don't have enough experience," or "I don't deserve to be successful." We have to be very careful at what we attach “I AM" to. These beliefs hold us back from even trying, let alone achieving our goals. You have to check with yourself and know they are just thoughts, and thoughts can be changed. Start replacing those negative beliefs with positive “I AM” Remind yourself that you are capable, deserving, and worthy of success. The more you repeat, the more you will believe and the self limiting beliefs will drowned out by the positive “I AM”

Now that we've identified the barriers, let's talk about how to break through them. The first step is awareness. Recognise and acknowledge the fears, doubts, and self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back. Shine a light on them and understand them. Once you lay them all out on the table to really understand what is holding you back, when taking action and the fear comes up, you know exactly what it is and how to tackle it.

The next step is taking action. Start small and take one step at a time towards your goals. Break them down into tasks and celebrate each small victory along the way. Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small.

Surround yourself with positive and supportive people who believe in you. Find a mentor or a coach who can guide you and provide you with the encouragement and accountability you need. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who are also on a journey towards their dreams will inspire and motivate you.

What's standing between you and what you want? Believe in yourself, overcome your fears and doubts, and take action. You have the power to create the life you desire. Don't let anything or anyone hold you back. Go out there and make your dreams a reality!
